National D-Day Monument
I had no idea of the existence of this monument to D-Day! Thanks for posting it Tracey. The work is superb!

@Bill: Thanks Bill! I had no idea either until my parents moved to the area. Now we are able to check out all the cool touristy stuff around their new home!

Excellent capture and what a sky you had 'delivered' for this shot. I love seeing the mountains in the Roanoke area, also.

@MadScientist: Thanks Mad Scientist...yes it is HUGE! I guess D-Day was huge, so they felt the need to build a HUGE monument!

Now, that is a quality monument . . as well it should be for the scale of what took place. I like how you have photographed it simply and let it speak for itself.
