Cat Greeting the Dawn

Posted by Tracey (Maryland, United States) on 22 October 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

The other morning I went to let the horses out and I saw this spectacular sky. We get the sunrise just a little later than most because we live on the west side of a hill. When the sun pops over the hill, it is a fast and glorious sight. I grabbed my camera with the intention of shooting the distant barn, but my barn cat followed me, jumped up on the fence, and begged to be photographed!

You can see that only the top half of the tree line is illuminated fully by the sun's rays! The hill was still blocking the sun from shining on the bottom half of the trees.
