Interesting topic of discussion: Please throw in your 2 cents!

I was reading Traditional Home Magazine the other day and came across this quote in the 'From the Editor' page:
"A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add but when there is nothing left to take away." ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Is this statement true for photographs as well? Hmmm... In my opinion it does. Take, for instance, the shot above. Is this a perfect shot? No way. If I go with Saint-Exupery's definition, that is. I do not find myself wanting to add anything, but I do find myself wishing I could remove that annoying poster behind the actors. It distracts my attention away from the characters. Unfortunately, I could not position myself in any other manner to escape this horrible backdrop and I was already stopped down to f/3.6 in an attempt to blur out the background as much as possible. So, besides doing some amazing Photoshop trickery, there was nothing I could do.

But, every attempt is not perfection, nor should it be, so I am satisfied with the results of the image, none the less.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone! I know I am looking forward to it!
