Icy Road

This is the second in a series of photos taken while driving my car. I was safe and "shot from the hip," only using one hand on the camera, pointing it in the direction I wanted it to go and viola! There was absolutely no composing in camera.

Some of the images are a bit out of focus, but I actually love the ambiguous feel of it. I hope you enjoy this series!

I love this. The shot is excellent the way it is. I love the way the yellow really dominates the eye and draws you in.

Tracey, this is a superb shot! I minimal colour and natural black and white stand so well against the yellow...or is that the other way around? Love this one!

If I would get such great shots "from the hip" I'd be lucky! Super shot and the use of colour is very effective here.

You do pretty darn good for no aiming! Like what you did with desaturating all but the yellow...very nice. Er...not sure I'd drive on that road with TWO hands, let alone one :-)

@June: No worries...the road was treated, so it was just wet! The ice surrounding the road was pretty cool, though!

I love this shot and can't believe you took it while driving!! I'll have to start taking my camera with me. What a great idea for a series. I love the use of yellow in this otherwise b/w photo, and the ice on the trees. Really beautiful.
