When my grandmother and grandfather passed away, I took this tree from their yard and planted it in my yard, where it now thrives!

@GJC: Thanks, GJC. That is why I took the tree. I couldn't remember their house without it and it is a living testament to their wonderful lives. And I get to see it every morning and think of them.

@pLusOne: No, it isn't autumn here, thank goodness. Not quite ready for that. The leaves are red from spring through fall until they fall off!

@sherri: Sherri, You are right. I gave it about a 50/50 chance of making it. Believe it or not, the leaves never even wilted during the transplant. I was shocked...but not really because I think love was pulsing through the veins of that tree.

This is why I like to read about why the picture exists. Before I read it, this was a nice photograph of some red leaves. But after reading about how you got it, it was mad a lot better.
