Blocking the Flow

A fountain at Ladew Topiary Gardens. I added a texture in PS. I never really do that, but I liked the effect here.

nice composition, I like it, but I think even without the texture this image will look GREAT just in BW.

@Dimitrios: Thanks Dimitrios! I like experimenting and learning new things in PS, so this was kind of a trial. I agree this does not need a texture, but at least I've learned something!

wow, Tracey, this is amazing! I'm not sure how I feel (just personally) about the canvas texture but the image is so strong that that doesn't really detract from it at all. Well done :)

I like how this is so different from the last few days -- it shows that you are trying to expand and see in different ways instead of (like me, for example) taking the same shot and subject again and again. That said, I find the processing distracting because the photo becomes more about the processing than about the image, if you know what I mean. That's very much a personal aesthetic choice, and I respect that, so all I'm offering is my own opinion. I wonder if you might post the "original" at some point so we can see that and compare. Just a thought. Keep up the good work and the experimenting. I always enjoy seeing what you are doing.

Great image, even without the processing. I do like the added effect with the processing, but it always takes a good base image to make a strong image. Well done.
