No School Today

I liked the cartoonish (is that a word?) feel of this picture. It was a month ago on a snow day. The buses rested as the kids had the day off.

Excellent repetitive pattern and it's interesting how the snow is melted under each bus.

@Michael Skorulski: Actually Michael, it never snowed under the busses. They were parked there the night before and it started snowing in the morning. So it remained dry under the busses! That's also why there are no tire tracks :0)

Very nice. Hmm, to bad for the kids to be out on the road, but mom is out taking pictures of the buses in it. ;-)
The lines are great.
Advertisements can make an impression. Looking at the photo it makes me think that if you moved four of the buses forward, each moved up a few feet more than the previous one, you would have a great AT&T wireless ad. More bars in more places. :-)

Nice shot , I like the way the buses are lined up in this shot ... does not look like they really needed the day off with that INCH of snow that is on the ground ! ;o)

@Man With 101 Names: I know...pretty sad, huh? In our defense, another system came in about an hour after this was taken and it was all ice. We were in the house for a day or two with that one. Trees and electricity were down. So it turned out to be a good call in the end.

A great image - nicely done with the repetitive shapes and bright colors against the white snow. As some have already said, it doesn't look like enough snow to cancel school, but I also know that in the Mid Atlantic states we can go into a major panic with only a dusting of snow!!

@Chris: Chris...yes we can go a bit wacky with a dusting, but the real reason was the ice that showed up about an hour later. I was safe and sound, snug as a bug back home by then :0)

@pierre: No! I wish I knew how to do that though. I actually used a cartoon action in PS and then tweaked it until I liked it. Thanks for the comment.

The more I look at this shot the more I laugh. It really does have a cartoon-like sensibility to it – as Ronny 2¢ said, as if they're in a conversation. I also see faces in the rear ends (that sounds kinda weird ... I see dead people)! But what really cracks me up are the responses from the Germans and the Canadians ... they must think we Americans are the biggest wusses. I have friends who live here in St. Louis from Michigan and they're always griping about how pitiful we SOUTHERNERS drive in the snow. Anyway, you made me smile and laugh ... thanks!
